e-Pay is a government payment gateway designed to facilitate digital tax payments for the citizens of Punjab. Developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board and supported by the Finance Department of Punjab, e-Pay offers three convenient payment channels: internet banking, ATM, and over-the-counter (OTC) banking transactions.
When making tax payments, users can access the e-Pay application or website to generate a unique 17-digit PSID number. This number can then be used on any of the three payment channels mentioned above to complete the tax payment.
The Finance Department of Punjab, the State Bank of Pakistan, 1-Link, all scheduled banks, and the Punjab Information Technology Board have worked together to ensure that all three payment channels are technologically equipped to process payments efficiently.
In its first phase (FY 18-19), e-Pay allows users to pay various tax receipts, including excise and taxation fees such as token tax for vehicles, motor vehicle registration, vehicle transfer, property tax, professional tax, and cotton fees. Additionally, taxes under the Board of Revenue (BOR) such as e-stamping, mutation fees, and fard fees can also be paid via e-Pay. Furthermore, business registration fees for industries are also included in the scope of e-Pay.
Here is a brief description of some of the taxes and fees that can be paid through e-Pay:
- Token Tax for Vehicle: An annual tax paid by owners of motor vehicles.
- Motor Vehicle Registration: A one-time fee paid by the buyer of a new vehicle at the time of purchase.
